If this helps I hope it makes sense. Making videos you love is important. Them performing well would only be extra good for them. They are the niche viewer video that might help support a fan base that loves those things too. Mass appeal is never fulfilling artistically. Maybe a couple but the same thing over and over. Like gamefreak, they branched out so they didn't just have the same ol same ol pokemon game each year and they felt those explorations were basically entirely fruitless. About 5 years and loads of funds and man hours down the drain. People who did try those games LOVED them. They were critically enjoyed with at least 8 ut of 10s or higher. They still didn't financially fit the bill. The ended that and diversified their pokemon ip and did things like megas. Now pokemon is not run by og creators, it doesn't have a singular art direction, and it sells quicker than they can make. Sadly we all can feel the soul slip from pokemon. It is apparent however the nutrient deprived slop they churn out is still popular. It is a sad reality. This is why the gen 1ers are so vocal about how the mood and vibes have shifted in pokemon. Like old people saying tomatoes use to taste better. It is fact. Still, the bigger the mass you sell to, the less nutrient rich the product. A creative couldn't survive in game freak today. This is where hopefully you can find the want of your large audience. Churn out the nutrient deprived mass appeal videos and take a loss selling your nutrient rich niche videos that YOU enjoy making.

Holy shit that depressing talk at the end made me quite sad. Dobbs was the first poketuber I subscribed to many many many years ago and I (almost) love every video he posts. The only exception for me was that "worst pokemon knock-offs" or whatever it was called some years ago, because that had some entries that were unjustified. Other than that I can't say a bad thing about him. In general my favourite type of content are collabs, especially if I know both people. So what he suggested with Vinny, AuraGuardian and MandJTV, I would love all of these. I would also suggest trying to make contact with Purplecliffe. He has such a positive energy (and also lives in Texas as far as I know) and interacting with him could be good for Ethan's mental health.

So you could have used the last 400 for Luke to boost up eternatus with select abilities or illegal moves for example. And then a debt system where if you really want some change, you can go into debt and you need to nerf the choice you end up with based on how much debt you're in, and then set to 0 (so maybe you remove a move slot or get lower IV's)

Rotom wash is a microwave? Sure... but to be fair I'm fine with the mistake cause technically he could get a rotom heat and transform it with the catalogue, same principle as evolving. That pokemon can be prepared with no additional hacks. So it's fine.
